The hat I brought with me to the Bahamas reads: “The beatings will continue until morale improves.” I thought it a humorous paradox.
Then I have beer with a young fellow who looks at my hat and then me and says : “That’s not funny or appropriate.” It turns out he is gay and has just been beat up because of it. Not so funny anymore…or appropriate.
Perhaps like bombing Syria?

I write to consider how we all might best shuffle through the world's waltz without stepping on each others' toes. Of course, I must also entertain or all is for naught.
